Yep. I remember it. I was a Junior at Wirt High …. and the space shuttle was ready to take a teacher up to space. A plain old teacher –
Everybody in the neighborhood was pumped up.
Sure, the teacher wasnt from our area, but to think that we could be a teacher someday – or an astronaut – or just someone to make a difference in the world.. had us thrilled!
So everybody was in front of the televisions ready to watch them go up in space.
The clock started to go down …
The parents and families of all of the astronauts and teacher crossed their fingers ….
and then it happened …
